Giant (Hangul: 자이언트) is a 60-episode historical drama series from SBS that premiered on 10 May 2010.
The plot revolves around the lives of the three Lee family children: Kang-Mo, Sung-Mo, and Mi-Joo. Their father was killed by Hwang Tae-Sub and Jo Pil-Yeon, and their mother died in an accident. As a result, the children were separated. Ironically for Kang-Mo and Sung-Mo, they were both raised by their father's killers: Kang-Mo helped Hwang Tae-Sub avoid bankruptcy by advocating the use of a different landfill material, and was later adopted by Tae-Sub, and Sung-Mo was raised by Jo Pil-Yeon, who is a KCIA official. That set the brothers off on a quest for revenge. Later, Sung-Mo was shot in the head by an agent of Jo Pil Yeon. By a miracle, he survived, and had to hide from the KCIA. Jo Pil-Yeon tries to work in the government by making false papers. Kang-Mo finds out that Sung-Mo has the truth in the real papers, and finds him. They release the papers, and Jo Pil-Yeon fails his objective. He runs away, and later comes back to murder Kang-Mo, but fails, and dies. Sung-Mo takes surgery to take the bullets out of his head, but tragically dies.
The story also revolves around the development of Seoul during the 70s~90s, often regarded as South Korea's boom year.[2]
